The increase in battlefield cards is an improvement, and the adoption of magic mana systems also positively affects the game. The fun gameplay is mostly intact, although the manual doesn't explain some key aspects well, and the tutorial is choppy and incomplete. The translations are sloppy, and there are wrong and incorrect wordings on some cards, which can confuse new players. In addition, the AI for the early/mid levels is too easy, making it feel like they're trying to lose, and the player going first has a significant advantage. In terms of positives, it's exciting to see characters from Metal Slug, Phoenix Wright, and Mega Man. The game has a decent soundtrack, and bio information available on each fighter adds a nice touch.
