Measuring 9 inches in diameter and roughly 6 inches tall, it can hold at least 1 cup of food. To properly season the molcajete, the buyer must follow instructions found online. Although apparently a challenge, the authentic volcanic stone is an advantage over granite because it provides a rougher texture, which is excellent for controlling the Consistency of soft foods, such as guacamole.
