The distance between holes (center to center) is 2.5in and will accommodate most long-neck bottles, including 12-ounce beer bottles. It is also large enough to hold a standard wine bottle, but you won't be able to fit 24 wine bottles at the same time due to their larger width. The FastRack Bottle Drying Rack is primarily used for storing bottles after they have been cleaned and sanitized, and it is recommended that initial fermentation be done in a plastic bucket and then transferred to a glass carboy. The rack stores bottles neck down, and the holes are only wide enough for the necks. It should not be used during fermentation. The FastRack Bottle Drying Rack is easy to use and doesn't require assembly. It is stackable up to two racks high, and a tray is available separately.
