If you plan to use it beyond 50 pounds of spare tire weight, this is a must-have upgrade, thanks to its higher load capacity and resting spare height increase. It is compatible with Mor/ryde HD Door hinges, but does not work with most aftermarket cab antenna mounts. If used with a 35-inch tire, the tire carrier puts the tire too far away from the tailgate, which may prove too much for the entire Mor/ryde tailgate reinforcement kit.
