The Conner Hats Tarpon Springs Floating Supplex Sailing Hat is a great hat for outdoor activities like sailing, golfing or hiking. Made in Sri Lanka, the hat is well made and lightweight, and comparable in quality to the more expensive Tilley hat. The hat has a wire along the outer edge of the brim, making it crushable and easy to pack. The brim is heavily stitched and has some bulk, likely due to foam stiffening, and the top of the hat also has foam. The hat can be spot cleaned or hand-washed using plant-based soaps only since regular detergents are toxic for our waterways. The hat is perfect for sunshade and good sun coverage with a wide brim to protect the face, ears and neck from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. It is also vented at the top to keep the head cool and prevent sweating. The hat has a pocket on the top that is about the size of a shirt pocket with a velcro strip to keep it closed. The pocket is not a good place for car keys but great for carrying a few extra folded bills. In general, the customers have a pleasant experience, and the hat receives very favorable reviews on its comfort, style and durability. However, there are some customers that mention it to be smaller than expected.
