Beyond the Poseidon Adventure is a disaster film and a sequel to the original Poseidon Adventure film. The Master of Disaster Movies, Irwin Allen, directed it, and it is his final film. The plot follows Captain Mike's tugboat, the 'Jenny,' as he leads a rescue/salvage crew, including Sally Field as a miscast character, Karl Malden as the old first mate, and Michael Caine as the protagonist. The film also features Telly Savalas as Dr. Stefano Sveno, a one-dimensional villain seeking to retrieve a supply of plutonium and bomb parts from the capsized Poseidon ship. There are many other characters, including survivors and crew members of the Poseidon ship. The film is described as a decent action disaster movie, but there are some problems with it. Irwin Allen rewrote Paul Gallico's script, making changes that went against the original. Additionally, some errors in the film, such as the cut hole in the hull on the other side, contradict the original movie.
