The product is sturdy enough for cats over 10 pounds, however, the edge of the carpet may fray after several months of use. One user had to add wooden blocks at the bottom to prevent it from falling over when their cat claws at it. The toy can be removed, and the base is in two pieces, so it is easy to clean. The scratching surface can be cut out and replaced with a new one, but unfortunately, the carpet section cannot be bought separately. The product is not only suitable for cats, but also for other animals that enjoy using it.
