Answer: They do pack very small as stated I only had one disappointment , it did not come in the color I had wanted it to be. -

Can it compress the notoriously huge north face aleutian 0/-18°c sleeping bag?
Answer: I just manage to get a Marmot CWM -40 into a 20L. It compresses down to about half total volume of sack. if the 30L is too large bump down to the 20L or vise versa. Either way I have never returned a compression sack due to size issues. I always find something else to use them for. Like a tent bag. -

How big is the 20L when compressed?
Answer: It depends on what you opt to put in it. I usually store my underquilt in there which stuffs it pretty full, but it will compress to a little bit smaller than the larger sack pictured in the item description above. If I am stuffing with with just a few clothes and my jacket or if I put a collecting of gear items in there, it will compress to about half of the size picture. I know that is a vague answer, however it mostly depends on what you stuff it with. I will definitely say that the 20L is the perfect investment for stuffing a summer season quilt or packing clothes. It has really served me well! -

Answer: If you buy it from REI you can. -

What size do I need to hold 3 days worth of shorts, shirts, underclothes, a pair of leggings and sweatshirt?
Answer: It truly depends on the clothes. But if it helps I can fit 2 pair mid calf length darn tough socks, 1 pair soft shell type hiking pant, 1 long sleeve but fairly light shirt, top and bottom merino 250 base layer, and a puffy coat in a 20l if I try hard and believe in myself. -

Answer: Not water PROOF but water RESISTANT as it doesn't have the fold top on it only the drawstring then compression straps, if you want completely waterproof then you need to go with the sea to summit Event compression dry sack I own 2 and could ask for nothing better
